CIS is guided by a Board composed of educators, parents, members of the Phnom Penh business community, and members of the Phnom Penh community at large. The Board provides strategic support to ensure the ongoing strength and stability of the School.

Jason Caruana – Head of School

Our school has diligently prepared the required health and safety protocols to reopen, and we are proud to be one of the first schools in Phnom Penh to be able to welcome students back onto our campus.  As the school year progresses, we look forward to being able to share our new campus facilities with you and celebrate together the fantastic growth and learning happening everyday at CIS.  I hope you also have an opportunity to meet our new teachers, who are joining an already strong staff in providing daily opportunities for your children to Create. Inspire. Succeed at CIS.  Welcome back, everyone!

Jon Horsnell – Elementary Principal

I always wanted to be a teacher, 27 years later, I still love working in schools. I grew up in the UK and that is where I started my career, teaching in two different UK state schools. I then joined the Harrow International group of schools in 2002. In their schools, I have assumed many leadership roles, notably Head of Lower School (elementary) and Head of the Prep School (middle years) at Harrow Shanghai and Harrow Bangkok.  Throughout my career, leading by example has been the norm.

My philosophy of education places the children’s needs first; their wellbeing and learning are at the forefront of all the decisions that I make. My aim is always to help create a happy and inspiring school that ensures an inclusive educational environment, academic excellence and a personalized learning experience. I know that CIS is a school where both children and teachers achieving success on a daily basis.

Barry Squires – Middle & High School Principal

There is an amazing energy in the school as our motivated staff works with our student body.  In addition, we have the anticipation of our Grade 6-10 students moving into their new facilities following Pchum Ben, and we are rapidly moving forward with our preparation for the commencement of our first IB classes in 2021 as our current Grade 10 students move one step closer to High School Graduation.  All in all I am keenly looking forward to another year working with this incredible community that is CIS.
