Safety and Security
Prioritizing safety measures
At CIS, the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors is our top priority. We are committed to creating a secure learning and working environment.
SECURE CAMPUSES
Each CIS campus has controlled entrances and surveillance systems to enhance safety during and after the school day. Our Security Team supports staff, students, and visitors in English and Khmer. CIS is preparing to implement upgrades to its security stations and entrances.
VISITORS
All staff and visitors must present photo identification, have a pre-booked appointment, and to sign in at an entrance on arrival. Visitors must wear their visitor badge at all times and be accompanied by a CIS staff member while on campus. CIS parents and registered caregivers must present and wear their CIS ID cards when on campus during the school day or on weekends.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Procedures are in place and regular emergency drills are organized to ensure that students and staff are prepared for a variety of situations. We have trained health services staff and AEDs at each campus. CIS families are required to keep their emergency contact information up to date in iSAMS.
PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
CIS is committed to respecting everyone’s privacy. CIS also has a responsibility to protect all students, including their personal information that could be used to harm them, in line with our child safeguarding procedures. As such, visitors, parents, and staff on CIS campuses must seek consent before:
- Taking photos of other people’s children, other parents or CIS staff
- Posting photos of other people’s children, other parents or CIS staff on social media
- Taking photos of class lists or other school information with the names of students, teachers or staff
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND AIR QUALITY
CIS monitors inclement weather, including very hot days, stormy weather, and air quality. Although outdoor play and exercise are important for students of all ages, inclement weather or a reduction in air quality may warrant indoor recesses, as well as the cancellation or relocation of activities normally held outdoors.
TRAFFIC SLOWING MEASURES
Extensive traffic slowing measures have been implemented near Koh Pich Campus and Bassac Garden Campus. Speed bumps and staffed crossing points are in place.
