School Profile

At CIS, our students embark on an outstanding, well-rounded educational journey from Nursery to Grade 12. Our academic programs offer continuous, globally competitive pathways that prepare students to achieve exceptional growth and open doors to top universities around the world. 

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, our Early Years students learn through play in a caring, enriching environment. In Elementary School, students follow the Alberta (Canada) curriculum within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework, engaging in transdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning. In Middle School, specialist teachers support students in developing critical thinking, research, collaboration, and self-management skills across subject areas.

In High School, students have access to multiple pathways to graduation, including the Alberta High School Diploma and the IB Diploma Programme (DP), with our first cohort graduating in 2023. CIS diplomas are recognized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) as equivalent to the National High School Diploma.

Home to approximately 1,000 students representing 36 nationalities, including Cambodia, China, the United States, Korea, Australia, Canada, and Japan, CIS fosters a vibrant intentional community where diversity inspires learning, brings our campus to life, and enriches every learner's experience.
