COURSE SEQUENCES

Most courses in the Alberta High School Program offer at least two sequences to meet students where they are in their learning journey. Students can choose the sequence that aligns with their strengths and supports their goals. For example, Mathematics 20-1 is a precalculus course designed to prepare students for entry into university studies involving calculus, such as engineering, business, and certain sciences, while Mathematics 20-2 prepares students for university studies in programs such as arts, nursing, and education.

Varied course sequences in the Alberta High School Program help as many students as possible to personalize their learning journey and to enjoy success in high school. Our academic counsellor supports students in selecting courses that will support their goals and fulfill the requirements for graduation.
